TP's Annual Dealer Meeting.

Last year we joined TP as one of their UK Dealers. This year we were lucky enough to get to meet the team behind the chippers, as we were invited to their dealer day in Denmark last month.

This gave us a brilliant opportunity to not only meet the TP team but also meet the other dealers from the UK and across the borders, allowing us to share ideas for the coming year.

During the Dealer Day we had many enjoyable and informative workshops and we got hands-on with the machines giving us a better understanding of the work and effort that goes into every machine made by TP. We also got an insight into the new features for their chippers coming in this year.

Telescopic Ejector Spout

Get more precision and safety when ejecting your wood chips with the new telescopic ejector spout for TP 215 and TP 280.

The ejector spout can be adjusted to multiple lengths and swivelled to reach all the way into a trailer or truck bed meaning less clean-up and less waste.

Hydraulic Winch

The new hydraulic winch helps pull the material to the wood chipper, eliminating heavy lifting and pulling.

The hydraulic winch is mounted above the funnel on the chipper and is powered by the chipper's hydraulic system. With a pulling power of 200kg at 1 metre per second.
The 30 metre wire rope measures 6mm diameter and is controlled by a wireless remote control.

The First TP 280 Track Supplied & Delivered!!

Last week we got to supply the team at Arborscape with their NEW TP 280 Tracked Chipper!

The first TP 280 Tracked Chipper supplied in Europe!

This is the first 280 Tracked chipper supplied in Europe. This 11" model has a base weight of 2,700 kg (the optional winch adds 32kg) Meaning it can be towed to the site with a vehicle capable of towing 3,500 kg.

We have also added some features that have never been seen before from TP.

The main feature added allows the machine’s in-feed to be controlled via remote control for mechanical loading.

When the remote control is active, the safety bar and forward feed-roller buttons are disengaged on the machine, flashing warning lights show that the machine can't be fed manually. Then, with the remote control, the following functions are available:

• Start / Stop

• Forward

• Reverse

• Reset

Together with Adler, our German track supplier, we have developed a reinforced hose protection and shield tubing on a robust chassis with variable track width from 1000mm - 1400mm. The 220mm ground clearance means this machine can get to most places.

Welcome Back FSI!

At the beginning of 2024 DJB Machinery were proud to become part of FSI’s new UK dealer network. Having being involved in selling FSI stump grinders some years ago DJB have an extensive knowledge of these machines.

Founded in 2002 FSI Stump Cutters is an owner-operated manufacturing company, in a cooperation between the French importer FSI Franskan and Henning Schmidt who develop and manufacture stump grinders.

Since the beginning, FSI have focused exclusively on the production of stump grinders, making them the world’s only 100% focused stump grinder manufacturer, creating high quality products for professional users who need reliable tools for many years.

The FSI Range!

Since the first products were developed the range has grown steadily and FSI probably now have the widest range of stump cutters on the market, with a model to suit everyone’s needs.

Pedestrian & Wheeled

The pedestrian stump grinders are ideal for smaller jobs and where access is tight. The wheeled grinders, for more professional use, have control panels or remote controls, 4 wheel drive options and automatic breaks (model dependent) along with many other safety features.

FSI Tracked

From the compact B31 with a 26.5Hp petrol engine and only 74cm wide right up to the D74 with a 74Hp diesel engine with remote control and option of a dozer blade, the FSI tracked machines are capable of working on a variety of terrains with little effort.

Our PTO stump grinders are available as attachments for tractors and smaller PTO machines from 25Hp to 120Hp. All PTO stump grinders come with a moveable box with the joystick control and PTO shaft.

The FSI H (hydraulic) models are designed for excavators. With a huge range suitable for machines from 1.5 ton right up to 20 ton. These stump grinders are perfect for hard to reach areas, slopes, parks etc… The HS models are fitted with an integrated sweep movement and are available for tool carriers and loaders.

Delivery of the Lennartsfors IronHorse Essence and Flex.

Being a family run business we like to make sure our customers are happy with what they’ve bought from us. This sometimes means doing quite long journeys to personally deliver machines to ensure we are there to help set anything up or if there are any questions about the equipment.

Last week we had a beautiful 8 hour drive to Inverness to deliver two IronHorse machines to 2 of our customers. The scenery was amazing, especially the drive back through the mountains at Glen Coe! We did get quite a lot of snow at one point but we made it and we have 2 more happy customers!

IronHorse Essence

The first one in the UK!

The IronHorse Essence is a remote control mobile tool carrier that has a movable chassis which allows superior access in all terrains with the integrated winch that can provide extra assistance if needed. The Essence has the advantage to create many different solutions for your work, with the possibility to add a wide variety of attachments already available and even the chance to create your own unique accessories to add to the machine.

As with the IronHorse Flex, the Essence has a low ground pressure and causes minimal damage to the terrain making it perfect for conservation work. Being compact and able to work partly underwater give the IronHorse a huge advantage in the areas that it can work in.

IronHorse Flex

After over 10 years of owing an IronHorse Flex our customers decided to treat themselves to a new one! This machine, as with the Essence, is low ground pressure and has the option of adding attachments and accessories to make your job easier.

KLOU - BRUTALLY EFFECTIVE

In 1999 ‘Cutters’ was started in Dorset UK, by members of one of Africa’s biggest forestry and landscape equipment distributors, originally providing arborist and gardening equipment in the south of England. By 2010 they had expanded and were producing hydraulic attachments and decided to concentrate all their attention on this venture under the brand name Klou - meaning ‘Claw’ in Afrikaans.

We saw the high quality build of this equipment and originally started out supplying the Klou grab as an option with the Cormidi skid steer. The popularity of this grew due to the robustness and effectiveness of the grab so we decided to add more Klou equipment to our range of machinery.

The Klou log grab is available in 3 sizes and has the option of a tow hitch and capstan added to it. This is handy for towing machinery like chippers around, or rigging trees, saving the need of having to change attachments on carriers. The hydraulic pipes are routed through the centre of the grab, encased in spiral wrap, protecting them from damage.

With a choice of 2 sizes of caps, and the option of custom made sizes, the Klou post driver is perfect for driving posts in any type of soil. Being compatible with a variety of carriers including excavators, skid steers and front loader tractors, it vibrates posts into the ground at any angle with minimal stress on the post.

Klou are always looking for ways to improve and deliver the best solutions to their customers and realising the need for a more compact post driver, Klou now offer a smaller version which can be used on 1.5 ton excavators and still produce excellent results being more powerful and safer than hand held units.

Klou offer 2 types of stump grinders. The KSG, available in 2 sizes, and the SG, a swing-arm grinder, specifically made for use on skid steers and loaders. Both are high performance machines able to cope with the stress and strains they have to be put through at times getting through particularly hard stumps. The replaceable, self-sharpening, tungsten tipped teeth have multiple cutting edges to reduce wear. Being mounted on a pivot, the guard on the GSK moves away as you get deeper into the stump whilst still protecting the area from debris. The swing arm has an off-set head to ensure better visibility for the operator. Both machines have a relatively low rotation speed but very high torque putting more power to grinding the stump rather than being lost to drag.

The Klou bulk bucket, cone splitter and brush.

The KLOU Bulk Bucket has a volume of 0.3m³ (700kg) and weighing just 105kg is ideal for use on small skid steers and wheeled loaders for collecting wood clippings and other light material.

The Klou Cone Splitter comes in 2 models, standard and a heavy duty version. Both are designed for ease of use and minimum maintenance with removable/replaceable cone tips. Attachment plates can be made to suit your machine.

The Quick-Attach Brush can be mounted using a log grab or pallet forks. With no need to change attachments, they clean in one pass and are ideal for yard and site rubbish.

Busy, Busy, Busy

It has been very busy of late, so apologies for not posting sooner. Last month we had the Royal Welsh Show with ArbForest and the New Forest Show with Cutting Edge Plant Hire.

The Royal Welsh Show is a packed event with food and drink, horticulture, craft stalls, outdoor sports and of course forestry.

We had a range of machinery on show with ArbForest including Balfor splitters, Balfor Saw benches, a Cormidi skidsteer, the IronHorse along with the JBM stump grinder.

Our IronHorse is always a popular machine at shows. Because of the low ground pressure this machine is perfect for conservations work, getting into area other machines can’t with minimal disruption to the wildlife and plants. It has many attachment available for it, including a timber trailer and grab, loading crane and lighting.

The New Forest Show in Hampshire has been running since 1920 and has many attractions from falconry, to lumberjack displays, local food and drink stalls and forestry demonstrations. We were there with Cutting Edge Plant Hire. Along with some Balfor machines, IronHorse and Cormidi we also had the Celest 250 hedge cutter, Klou vibrating post knocker and the newest addition the, TP wood chippers.

The sun managed to shine at the New Forest Show.
