CoupEco Hedge and Tree Cutters

DJB Machinery are the sole uk importer and distributor of the whole of CoupEco’s range of machinery.

Manufactured in France, CoupEco produce hedge and tree cutters for a variety of purposes. From hedge pruning, to forestry cutting, to roadside trimming and green space maintenance. Much of their equipment is adaptable for use on most tool carriers, excavators, tractors, skid steers and more.

With the CoupEco range of trimmers, trees and hedges are cut cleanly, with no shredding or crushing. This reduces the possibility of disease, promoting healthy, natural regrowth.

Our newest products in the CoupEco range are the Lamiers. Suitable for arboricultural and agricultural work the Lamier comes in a range of models from 1 blade to 9 blades (fitted with disc cutters or saw blades) adaptable to fit on most carriers. The Lamier range also offers a choice of pruning shears for pruning the small branches in hedges.

QM - Quality Makers

Founded in 2001, QM are a highly skilled and knowledgable Italian company making earthmoving, agricultural and forestry equipment. DJB are the sole importers and disturbers for QM in the UK offering their whole range of flails, wood grabs and augers.

QM grab, flail, mulched and auger.

With the SL range starting at 500mm and the SF (front mounted) range going up to 2100mm there is something to suit every need whether it’s clearing a footpath or flailing the forest floor. The SE series has a reversible motor for effective cutting in any direction of travel and also helps with any untangling.

QM auger in ground

The QM TL range of augers are available to fit machines from 0.8 to 14 ton with the option of the TF models for skid and wheeled loaders. We have many adaptations for them to fit most machines and a range of tools including cone splitters, harrowers, stump planers and bits for a variety of ground conditions.

TL-HD and TF-HD are designed for uses when a high radial load is applied on the reducer. The reinforced heavy-duty support, designed by QM, relieve the reducer from any load releasing forces on the body of the auger. The double pin hitch designed and patented by QM allows the use for heavy works in “locked” mode with QM tools such as wood splitter, stump planer etc.

QM's PL & EV range of Timber Grabs are the product of several years of studies and tests carried out with forestry professionals. The claws are made of Domex 700 (steel that guarantees strength and wear resistance). The grabs are available in basic models or reinforced ones. The claws are all available without the bar at the bottom making them handy for collecting chopped wood and feeding chippers. All models can be fixed or fitted with hydraulic motors so they can be rotated 360 °.

The timber grabs will fit machines from 0.8 to 18 ton depending on the model.

Our Customers.

It’s always a good feeling knowing you’re customers are happy. Happy customers will come back to you and they will tell others of their experiences with DJB. After selling machines (some of them big, some of them small), it’s nice to see how people are getting on with them so we can have more information and insight into what works, what doesn’t and how they have made jobs that bit easier. As someone posted on one of our Instagram posts recently ‘Work smarter, not harder’. (Thank you Christopher Hoare Tree Services for that!) Hopefully our machines are doing just that.

Below are a few recent photos and screenshots of some of our customers who have been happy for us to share, quote and photograph them with their new machines. Most of these are from Instagram and Facebook. Click the social media links below to follow us if you don’t already. If you would like your company and machinery sharing in our next blog just let us know how you are getting on with your purchase etc… and we will happily share it.

NatureScot taking delivery of their IronHorse Flex.

This machine is perfect for forestry and conservation work as it has low-impact tracks & can get into many places. It comes with a hand winch and a hydraulic 1-ton winch.

RSPB Wetlands

Sutton Fen Wetlands is recognised as being home to many rare plants and wildlife. In order to maintain this environment they needed a machine that could travel across difficult and challenging terrain without causing damage in order to conserve the area. The IronHorse did just this and was perfect for getting through the marsh with no trouble at all.

Tomos Pierce Tree Services in Wales had a lovely surprise one Friday afternoon when he saw his new Balfor Shark 750 had been delivered…Free delivery of course!! He shared photos of his new saw bench and his recently purchased Balfor 16-ton splitter. A nice little set up going off. We especially like all the safety gear being worn.

Before and after shots from Treecology Arboriculture in NW Essex using the QM SF 120 flail. In their words, “Flail works great. Got some gnarly bramble, nettle and light scrub clearance jobs going up for it so will be a good addition to the ever growing arsenal of tools at our disposal. Thanks to Dan for coming out on a Saturday with it.” We will work around customers as much as we can. Even doing evening deliveries if we have to.

The QM flails are available in 5 different models, each in different sizes to suit many kinds of machines. They can come with Y-shaped blades or hammers and suit machines from 0.8-14 ton.

The front-mounted flails are ideal for skid steers and loaders.

TP Wood Chipper Features

Some of our TP Wood Chippers on display at the ArbShow

Our TP chippers have many great benefits and additions. Some come as standard and some are optional extras. For a limited time we are offering the TP Vario Spout (where applicable) and a ServiceBox free with our machines.

The OPTICUT™️ Blade System is unique to TP. Instead of placing one or two long blades on the rotor disc, the chipping is performed with smaller blades that are displaced on the rotor disc. This way there is always a blade interacting with the wood, causing less vibration and less strain on the machine leading to lower fuel consumption and more uniform chip quality.

The system is standard on TP 165 / 175 / 215 / 280 / 320 / 400 models.

TP chippers benefit from having Twin Disc rotors. The rotor’s weight is reduced by up to 40%. However they still have the same strength as traditional solid disc types.

All TP Chippers (excluding the 100 MOBILE) come with TP PILOT, a stress control system monitoring rotor speed. The Range Control will decrease engine speed to 50% when inactive for more than 10 seconds, the Auto Reverse will automatically reverse for 0.25 seconds stopping the jamming on wood and the Low Noise Function chips at 80% capacity to reduce noise levels and save on running costs for smaller jobs.

The VARIO Spout is height adjustable giving several practical advantages. Being able to lower the spout makes storage easier, transportation safer and allows for more flexible ejection of the wood chip. For a limited time we are offering this option at no extra cost

The TP Starter is a unique feature with an automatic clutch system that engages the rotor (disc) meaning easier starting with less stress on the machine, also providing automatic belt tensioning ensuring drive belts last longer. Less stress on the machine when stopping and starting equals less vibration and more comfort for the operator.

TP chippers are available as tracked machines, towed/mobile, PTO driven and crane fed and they all come with a 3 Year Warranty. They can be found here along with options and specifications.

JBM Stump Grinders

Our JBM Pedestrian Stump Grinders have been designed specifically for the UK market with a narrow access of only 660 mm (26”) and the Briggs and Stratton 14 Hp petrol engine having more power than most of the competitors.

Bassetlaw District Council took delivery of their JBM 1466 BT stump grinder after having a demonstration of it. They were impressed with the performance of the machine and how easy it was to operate and how efficiently and effortlessly it worked to remove the stumps.

When we delivered the machine to them we made sure that all the team members were present who would be using it so that we could give them some training and answer any questions they might have.

Bassetlaw District Council can now keep their open spaces and parks clean, tidy and safe.

The Tree Fellas sent us some photos of ‘the beast’ of a machine working its way through a 3.5 foot stump. They bought the JBM stump grinder to add to their equipment to keep pushing and growing their business.

Arb Show 2023

May saw DJB Machinery at the Arb Show in Westonbirt, Gloucestershire. We spent a few days travelling up beforehand with lots of equipment, getting everything set up for the show in some pretty bad conditions due to heavy rain a few days before. However, the success of the show made it worth it. Luckily, the sun came out and we had fantastic weather and amazing burgers from Wefumo! We couldn’t ask for a better weekend for it!

As with most of our shows we took a huge range of our equipment and machines with us. This was the first time we were able to show our new line of products from Rabaud and TP, having only just started out as being importers for them. They are both a great addition to our growing range of forestry, firewood and agricultural equipment.

The guys from Wefumo did a great job of keeping everyone happy and fed with their burgers. Even making a jam and peanut butter burger. All washed down with free drinks of course.

Probably one of the main attractions on our stand was the Cormidi C85 Skid Steer. Having a narrow width of only 83.7cm this machine is capable of fitting through most garden gateways.

Previously these machines had very long lead times and many customers have been patiently waiting for their return. Luckily, the delivery turned up three weeks prior to the show and we fortunately had some stock left to take down with us. We will hopefully be getting a new delivery very soon.

A few hours before the last trip down to the show we managed to get our delivery of Coup’eco hedge cutters so were able to take them with us. The ‘do not touch’ signs on the blade cutters only tempted people to want to touch them, with one elderly gentleman having to be told more than once to, ‘please don’t touch that’. Luckily he left with all his fingers attached still.

The next show we have lined up is the Highland Show in Scotland so more on that very soon.
